Another Holman and Pye offering this time accredited to Kim Holman the design was introduced in about 1965. With a long keel and raked transom the rustler 31 owed much to the Folkboat tradition and of course more directly form Holman's earlier twister design which by then had acquired an almost legendary reputation as a sea boat. And the Rustler 31 a GRP version of the wooden North sea 24 did'nt disppoint being acclaimed by the yachting press and public alike for her good manners.

"EXCALIBUR" AFT COCKPIT THREE CABIN CRUISER. The Westerly Merlin was one of the early three cabin cruisers and has a remarkable amount of room for a boat of this length and era. They have a good layout with plenty of stowage and most of the controls are led back to the cockpit making them easily handled by a small crew. Excalibur has been very well looked after over the years being professionally maintained and wintered ashore every year. As a bilge keeler she is ideally suited to East Coast cruising and really is a very nice example of the class. Well worth viewing.
