The Fisher 25 is a classic little motor sailer with comfortable accommodation and an easily handled ketch rig. ?Selene? has been well updated with a recent engine and ancillary equipment. The addition of fixed chart table and fridge in place of the quarter berth works well and provides plenty of storage space. This is a particularly good example of the class considering her age and is well worth viewing. Recent carpets and curtains. 2008 cream vinyl upholstery. Rope and hydraulic backstay adjustment, 9 x Lewmar winches. Built in 1982 by W A Souter & Sons in Cowes. Oxford Blue coloured aluminium hull. Traditional fin keel with lead ballast, trim tab on aft end of keel & rudder with half skeg. White aluminium superstructure. Lewmar deck hatches. Large open cockpit. Built for Peter De Savery in 1982 as the British contender for the America's Cup in 1983 and designed by Ed Dubois. A newer Ian Howlett design with wings, 'Victory 83', was eventually used in the 1983 America's Cup although it was considered that K21 'Victory of Burnham' was the faster boat.
